Starbright Girl is myself, Megan-Jayne McFall :) I'm a qualified Jewellery Designer (B-Tech Degree in Jewellery Design & Manufacture), based in Durban, South Africa.
I am a serious pop culture geek - and so love to create pieces influenced by popular culture. The name Starbright Girl comes from the 1996 song "Starbright Boy" by the Scottish group Bis, in which they sing about 80's movies, referencing everything from Ferris Bueller to the Brat Pack - awesome!
The pieces shown on this website are an amalgamation of computer design & jewellery manufacturing techniques, designed for a niche market who (like me), want to show off their love of pop culture imaging and references - or just like really pretty, funky things! Everything you see on this site is handmade by me - except for the chains! As much as I love designing on the computer - there is nothing more satisfying than working with metals, and creating something beautiful with your own hands.. I put a lot of care & effort into all my work, and hope you can see this in the finished products..
